During the mid-1970’s a group of musicians met in the Philadelphia area. Driven by a mutual love for the great originators of American roots music, sharing a musical alienation from the programmed and commercial music of the day (e.g. disco) and inspired by the tremendous enthusiasm of club and bar crowds of the er - The Rock Bottom Band was born. Performing consistently from 1974 to 1982, the band worked the east coast circuit, sharing the stage with acts such as James Cotton, Albert King, Kingfish, Fenton Robinson and Sam & Dave.
The members of the band ultimately went their separate ways, moving on to perform and record with Jimmy Rogers, Lowell Fulson, Chuck Berry, Little Anthony, Martha Reeves, The Stylistics, The Wailers, Taj Mahal, Little Feat, The Allman Brothers Band, George Thorogood, The Blues Brothers, and Dan Akroyd’s L.A. House of Blues Band.
In December of 1998, the band and a group of friends and fans reunited. This recording is a tribute to that night.
